Who We Are
Virginia Tech is a university known for its academics and Hokie pride. There are so many different kinds of people at Virginia Tech with a wide range of interests and talents. Hokie Humans takes the opportunity to showcase different Virginia Tech students that have unique and unusual talents and hobbies, so visitors can learn more about the strangers sitting next to them in class.
Meet The Editors
Bailey Blair is a sophomore student who is pursuing a double major in public relations and religion and culture. She participates in one of the university’s a cappella groups called Mixed Emotions, doubling as a singer and the public relations director for the group. Blair is also a Virginia Tech ambassador for the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences as part of the recruitment team. She aspires to work for a public relations firm in Atlanta where she can specialize in crisis communication and public relations.
Ally Carswell is a sophomore student who is studying public relations with a double minor in leadership and social change, and public and urban affairs. Carswell works as the Vice President of Programming for the non-profit organization, College Mentors for Kids. She also works as a Step- Up leader for Virginia Tech’s student engage program, and serves on Virginia Tech’s Honor Council. Carswell would like to pursue a career in corporate responsibility.
Heather Trobridge is a sophomore student pursuing a degree in multimedia journalism with a minor in professional and technical writing. Trobridge enjoys working for the Collegiate Times and working as the communications executive for the Big Event- a student run organization that ensures the students of Tech give back to the community. Trobridge is pursuing a career in lifestyle magazine editing so she can utilize both her writing and design skills.
